Back to school – your kids could be bringing home more than homework

Sadly Bed Bugs are all over the news lately   School has just started back up, and you have so much to worry about. You get up early to get the kids ready, feed them, drive them to school through rush-hour traffic. You expect them to be safe at school and come back to you at the end of the day with home-work, and hopefully a great story about how well their day went. Little did you know that Johnny’s friend Billy has been staying in a house that has had a bed bug problem. Or maybe Billy’s family went on vacation right before school started back and they stayed in a hotel that had bed bugs. Billy’s family may not even know they have …

What you can do to prepare for earwig season

Earwig Season? I know, it’s still pretty hot here in South Carolina. As we start to come out of summer though,  and the temperatures begin to cool expect to start seeing more earwigs inside the house. Earwigs do prefer to be outdoor. Earwigs live under rocks, pave stones, fallen trees, wooden garden borders, and anywhere else that is dark and damp. They will emerge at night to feed on other insects and plants. Insects from other countries

Interesting insects from other countries   This is a fun post today. Something you should all enjoy. We sometimes get stuck in the day to day of our lives and only think about the things we deal with. In South Carolina we deal with plenty of ant, roach, spider and beetle issues. If you look at the world over though you will see that most of the insects we deal with here are pretty mundane. Countries such as Australia and New Zealand deal with so many unique and dangerous insects that many photographers and camera crews travel halfway around the world to get a close up glimpse of these spectacular creatures. Here are just a few we thought you would find interesting.   Kung Fu …

Pest Control Tip – June 2, 2017 – National Doughnut Day & National Rocky Road Day

Pest Control Tip   Pest Control Tip! With days coming up like this Friday, June 2nd National Doughnut Day and National Rocky Road Day, all on the same day, we thought we’d give some tips to keep those pesky ants out of the house. 1. After scarfing down too many doughnuts to count or more scoops of Rocky Road than you’d like to admit, wash any plates or bowels as soon as possible. You may have been pretty careful not to let a drop of that sweet, flavorful, Rocky Road …
